Electric Water Heater is ultra efficient and shares
technology similar to an Energy Star® qualified
Refrigerator. Rather than taking heat from inside the
appliance and moving it outside as a refrigerator
does; Bosch hybrid technology takes heat from
outside the appliance and uses it to heat the water!
Using a specially designed heat pump system, the
heat is transferred from the surrounding air to the
water stored in a well insulated storage tank,
resulting in efficient hot water and zero direct
greenhouse gas emissions!

Installation
The ideal installation for a Bosch Hybrid Water Heater is in a warm
unconditioned climate such as an attic, basement or garage with at
least 7' x 10' x 10' cubic feet of air space. The efficiency of the Heat
Pump is higher in warmer climates, however you can experience
savings in all climates. This unit directly replaces a 50 gallon water
heater and the energy factor of 2.2 ensures savings.

The Bosch Hybrid Water Heater also cools and dehumidifies
unconditioned air as an extra benefit, saving money and energy on
air conditioning. Installing in unconditioned spaces with air
temperatures between 45°F - 115°F will yield the highest
efficiencies for the Bosch Hybrid Water Heater. With use of the
ducted air option, the Bosch Compress uses the energy of the
unconditioned air to supply cooler, dehumidified air into the air
duct, reducing the overall energy load of your home.

Recirculation Pumps can be used to provide instant hot water at a faucet or from radiant floors using water or a glycol type liquid for floor warming.

Armstrong is a leader in pump technology and these pumps are made in New York and Canada in the Buffalo / Niagara area.

Used with a tankless heater, the recirculation pump circulates water from a small tank heater within a loop to each faucet. The pump can have a timer

and a temperature sensor so the loop stays warm but the mini tank water heater is not on all the time. When a faucet is turned on, the tankless heater sees the flow and turns on and the heated water flows through a check valve and to the open faucet.

Armstrong has an all in one system called the ASTRO EXPRESS. The Astro Express System works like a thermostat.The snap-acting valve opens and closes to circulate hot water so it stays at a specific temperature throughout the distribution system. Hot water at each tap stays hot, and cold water stays cold.

A timer automatically ensures that the water is recirculated regularly; and can be set for multiple activation periods per day. It can be set to circulate water only during normal usage hours (i.e. not in the middle of the night when everyone is asleep). The timer includes manual on/off overrides to normal automatic operation.

Each system comes with one valve, which is installed at the faucet furthest away from the water heater. This ensures that hot water is delivered to all the faucets in between. A home that has a distribution line with a number of branches, will need a valve for the faucet at the end of each branch. Additional valves are available separately

THE ASTRO 20 BU-T CIRCULATOR

The Astro 20 BU-T circulator is a small pump with twice the capacity of other circulators. It can handle more flow to more destinations (up to 5 valves) for the kind of “branch plumbing” that can make hot water distribution in a large or ranch-style home such a challenge.

Most dedicated return systems are oversized and have a short duty cycle when the aquastat is activated. Our injection system uses lower flow to maintain a more stable water temperature at the hot water faucet and prevent noise and erosion. Plus, larger openings ensure easier flow, so several people can turn on taps throughout the house and they will all get hot water instantly.
