Holding Capacity for Bosch Tronic 3000T ES8

The Bosch Tronic 3000T ES8 is a mini tank heater and is not tankless.  The Bosch ES8 is used for point of use like under kitchen sink, bathroom sink, RV's etc..  The Bosch ES8 is not recommended for a shower as it is a mini tank and will go cold after a few minutes.  Some people do use them in RV's for a shower but will only last for 4-5 minutes then hot water will run out.

The Bosch ES8 can be hooked up to the water plumbing lines 2 different ways.  If the Bosch ES is hooked up with the water connection pipes coming out of the top of the unit vertical the unit will deliver around 7.0 gallons of hot water due to the way the piping inside the unit is.

If the Bosch Tronic 3000T ES8 is hooked up with the water pipe coming out the right side horizontal then the Bosch ES8 will produce around 5.1 gallons of hot water before going cold.

These same specifications and holding capacities also pertain to the Bosch models GL6+, GL6+S, GL8Ti and GL8TiS.

GlobalTowne would like to announce that the Ariston thermostat #65105602 has been discontinued.  This thermostat was good for Ariston models GL2.5/GL4/GL2.5Ti and GL4Ti.  GlobalTowne still has some stock of these thermostats but when they are gone there is no replacement available.  Bosch is currently putting together a retrofit kit with the manufacturer and would include the new GL2.5S/GL4S/ES2.5/ES4  thermostat #87387044410, new element, anode rod, cover and temperature control knob.  This retrofit kit is still under discussion and Bosch will announce the decision soon if they are going with the new kit.

GlobalTowne is almost out of stock on the Bosch GWH425EF LP (Liquid Propane) Gas Tankless Water Heater.  The Bosch 425EF LP is a direct vent tankless water heater designed for 1 major application at a time up to 3.6 GPM.  The Bosch 425EF LP requires power and has electronic ignition and a built in fan for blowing the exhaust gases to the outside. This 425 should be vented horizontal to the outside using 4" diameter single wall stainless steel venting.  This Bosch model 425EF LP is also the direct replacement for the older Bosch 125FX LP.  Supply is limited so order soon.

Bosch Powerstream Flow Switch Part Numbers

GlobalTowne carries most parts for the Bosch gas and electric tankless water heaters.  This information is to confirm the difference between the older flow switch and the newer flow switch for Bosch Powerstream and Powerstream Pro units.  The older flow switch part number 8-738-701-694-0 would be for any Powerstream and powerstream Pro models with a serial number beginning with "31" or less.  The newer flow switch part number 8-738-700-865-0 is for the newer Powerstream and Powerstar units with a serial number of "32" or higher.

Bosch Therm 830ES/940ES/940ESO Gas Tankless Water Heaters

GlobalTowne has just added the Bosch 830ES, 940ES and 940ESO units to our website. The Bosch Therm 830ES and 940ES replaces the older retail units Bosch 2400ES and Bosch 2700ES. The 830ES and 940ES are direct replacements for the older 2400ES and 2700ES.  the only difference is the part number.  The Bosch Therm 940ESO is an outdoor unit and comes with the Bosch Therm Outdoor Kit (BTOK). GlobalTowne has just a limited supply of the Bosch Aquastar 125BO NG outdoor tankless water heaters left in stock.  The Bosch AquaStar 125 BO model has a pilot light and offers a Piezo push-button ignition and utilizes a modulating gas valve to ensure a constant temperature at varying flow rates. The 125BO is designed to be installed outdoors and has a 120V plug that is only used for freeze protection. Heat Sink Paste Application for Bosch Electric Tankless PCB Board Replacement

This will cover a little more in depth application of the heat sink paste that needs to be applied to the back of the triacs on the pcb board for the Bosch High KW electric tankless water heaters.  When you are replacing the PCB control board on a Bosch electric tankless water heater for the high KW units such as the AE-115/WH17 or the AE-125/WH27 you want to make sure to apply the heat sink paste that comes with the new PCB board.

The heat sink paste will come in a small syringe type applicator and a small amount will need to be applied to the back of each triac.  The triac's are the small black squares to the left of the PCB board labeled by the letter G in the picture below.  The Bosch AE-115/WH17 will have 4 small black triac's to the left of the PCB board and the AE-125/WH27 will have 6 small black triacs to the left of the PCB board.  There are service bulletins that show the PCB board replacement and heat sink application.  Bosch Service bulletin EP-22 will show the PCB board replacement for all the newer high KW units with polymer modules.    Bosch Service bulletin TWH-E2-22 will show the PCB board replacement for all the older high KW units with copper canisters.

The Bosch AQ4 Power Vent kit has been discontinued.  This powervent kit was designed and used for the Bosch models:  1600P, 1600H, 520PN and 520HN heaters.
