Bosch Therm 330PN LP (Liquid Propane) Units Discontinued

Bosch is always trying to upgrade its units and keep up with the energy efficiency ratings for higher standards.  The Bosch Therm 330PN LP has been discontinued and is no longer made and is out of stock.  The Bosch 330PN LP was discontinued as it did not meet the required energy efficiency regulations.

Bosch is working on new gas tankless models that will be more efficient and have better ratings.

Humphrey Burner Nose for Preformed Mantle #9 Lights L12-2A

Bosch AQ1 Discontinued

The Bosch AQ1 side wall power vent kit has now been discontinued for several years. It is now completely unavailable. The AQ1 vent kit was used for Bosch AquaStar 125B tankless water heaters that were vented horizontally out the side wall.

The current replacement for the Bosch AquaStar 125B is the Bosch Therm 520PN. The 520 PN uses the AQ4 side wall power vent kit for all horizontal venting installations. No power vent kit is required when venting the 520 series tankless water heaters vertically up through the roof.

The AQ4 cannot be used as a substitute side wall vent kit for any Aqua Star125 tankless water heaters. The Bosch AQ4 can only be used for the Bosch Therm 520 series and the older Bosch 1600 series tankless water heaters.

Bosch AquaStar 125B Replaced by Bosch Therm 520 Series

The Bosch Therm 520HN and the Bosch Therm 520PN Tankless Water Heaters are the direct replacements for the older Aquastar model heaters such as the 170VP, 125VP, 125B, 125X, 125HX and the 1600H & 1600P as well as the Bosch Protankless 425HN and 425PN.

Just like these older Bosch AquaStar tankless water heaters, the Bosch Therm 520 series are 117,000 BTU heaters that do not require any electricity. The Bosch Therm 520 PN has a standing pilot light and the Bosch Therm 520 HN uses Bosch's patented Hydrogenerator technology to start the water heater without electricity whenever the unit senses a demand for hot water.

Please be aware that if replacing an older model 125 series heater and the heater was vented out the sidewall of the home using the AQ1 powervent then you would need to order the new 520 series replacement heater and the new AQ4 powervent kit. The new model Bosch Therm 520 heaters are not compatable with the older AQ1 power vent kit and the AQ4 does require electricity.

The Bosch AquaStar 125B was designed to be vented up through the roof with 5" B-Vent. The Bosch 125B was replaced by the Bosch 1600P and the Bosch 425PN. All of these heaters were replaced by the 117,000 BTU Bosch Therm 520 PN.

The Bosch AquaStar 125HX was designed to be vented up through the roof with 5" B-Vent. The Bosch 125HX was replaced by the Bosch 1600H and the Bosch 425HN. All of these heaters were replaced by the 117,000 BTU Bosch Therm 520 HN.

FX HOOD Terminator

GlobalTowne still has a few of the Bosch FX Termination Hood's (FXHOOD) left in stock.  These FX Hood's were used to vent the older Bosch 125FX and 240FX gas tankless water heaters.  The FX Hood is a 4" diameter termination hood for venting out the sidewall.  The FXHOOD had a flapper inside to keep the cold out when the unit is not in operation. The FX Hood is made of galvanized metal.

The current replacement for the Bosch Aquastar 125FX is the Bosch Therm 520PN with an AQ4 side wall vent kit.

National Fuel's Western New York Conservation Incentive Program

The Conservation Incentive Program offers residential customers in National Fuel's western New York service area a number of money-saving rebates when they replace specified appliances with energy-efficient models.

There is a $700.00 rebate for all hot water boilers with an energy efficiency of .90 or higher.

There is a $375.00 rebate for all gas tankless water heaters with an energy efficiency of .82 or higher.

There is a rebate of $275.00 for all Indirect Bosch Stainless Steel Storage Tanks.

There is a rebate of $25.00 for the Bosch CRC100 & CRC200 Programmable Thermostat.

There is a rebate of $75.00 for the Bosch Wi-Fi Enabled Smart Controller.

GlobalTowne is pleased to announce we are now carrying the new Delta Temp Hydro-Pak Mini Rack Systems.  GlobalTowne offers 2 different models, Hydro-Pak 190-45 SS and the Hydro-Pak 140-45 SS.  These mini rack systems come in either Natural Gas (NG) or Liquid Propane (LP). The Delta Temp Hydro-Pak Mini Rack System 190-45 SS is a rack system designed for high volume residential and light commercial applications. The Hydro-Pak Mini Rack System 190-45 SS Natural Gas (NG) or Liquid propane (LP) combines the benefits of tankless water heaters with a storage tank and pump to provide up to 525 gallons of hot water for the first hour of use and 480 gallons per hour thereafter at up to 8 gpm at a 35 degree temperature rise. When compared to the 32-38 gallon per hour rate of a standard 40-50 gallon tank, this Hydro-Pak Mini's high recovery rate and small footprint make it the ideal solution for all high volume residential and light commercial water heating applications.

The Hydro-Pak Mini Rack System 190-45 SS comes with a Takagi 190,000 BTU TK-4-IN tankless water heater that provides an endless supply of hot water to a 45 gallon Stainless Steel (SS) storage tank. The inclusion of the storage tank eliminates the pressure drop, ensures there is no cold water sandwich in the lines, and maintains a standby heat loss of .5 degrees or less per hour. The Astro 250 Stainless Steel pump ensures that the tankless heater's minimum activation rate is met and keeps the tank supplied with hot water.

Periodic Maintenance for Bosch 1600P/520PN & 1600H/520HN

The Bosch gas tankless water heater model numbers 1600P and 1600H should have annual and periodic maintenance done to prolong the life of the heater.  Bosch Thermotechnology is no longer making the retail models 1600P and 1600H but the new models that replaced them are the Bosch 520PN and the Bosch 520HN.  GlobalTowne carries parts for the Bosch 1600P/520PN and the Bosch 1600H/520HN.

As per the installation manual, the heaters should be checked annually for any debris in the venting, cleaning of the inlet filter screen and cleaning of the water valve.  The water valve should be cleaned with white vinegar and then the pushrod inside the water valve should be lubricated with plumbers grease or silicon grease.  The Bosch tankless water heaters should have a water valve rebuild done every 3 - 5 years depending on the quality of the water where the heater is installed.  The water valve rebuild kit (WVKITCT) #7738001923 includes the metal retaining plate, 2 set screws, pushrod and a packet of lubricant.  Call GlobalTowne at 888-726-9752 to order the water valve kit and other parts.

Bosch External Water Filter

The Bosch external water filter part number 8703305356 replaces the existing smaller internal water filter screen inside certain Bosch tankless water heaters.  The external water filter allows for easy access to clean the inlet screen periodically.  Without the external water filter it is very difficult to get at the inlet screen inside the heater.  The Bosch external water filter is designed to be used for Bosch models 250SX/2400E/2400ES/2700ES.  The Bosch Integra 500/Evolution 500/2400ES/2700ES came with the external water filter.

The Bosch external water filter was also good for the older model Bosch heaters such as the older 635ES/635ESO/830ES/940ES/940ESO/C800ES/Therm C950ES/Therm C1050ES and C1210ES/C1210ESC

All of the newer model Bosch tankless water heaters 830ES/940ES/Greentherm C950ES/Greentherm C1050ES/ C1210ES/C1210ESC have the built in inlet filter screen.  See image below as it shows the inlet filter screen where the cold water connection is.

Bosch Tronic 6000C WH27 Replacing the Powerstar AE-125

GlobalTowne will now be offering the Bosch Tronic 6000C WH27 to replace the Powerstar AE-125. The original Powerstar AE-125 was a retail model heater but Bosch Thermotechnology is moving away from selling retail heaters.  The new model now will be the Bosch Tronic 6000C WH27.  The Bosch WH27 has almost the same features and physical dimensions as the Powerstar AE-125.  The Bosch WH27 now comes with a digital display on the front of the unit and also has a thermostatic control knob on the front.  Below are some of the specifications of the new Bosch Tronic 6000C WH27.
